Carnatic Violin Classes at Austin Gurukulam

About the Teacher:

Sri Suresh Krishnamurthy learnt Carnatic Violin from late Kalaimamani Sri Ramanathapuram Ganesha Pillai a leading violinist in Neyveli, Tamilnadu and done Aarangetram in his young age.

He has won numerous awards in State, district, intercollegiate festivals and local Sabha’s. He has given individual programs and accompanied for vocal and dance programs in US and India. He has been teaching Violin and continues to learn, perform and collaborate with others in the field of music.

He is an Engineer by profession and stays with his family in Central Texas at Belton 

About the Class:

  • Location and Timings: Classes will be held at Austin Hindu Temple on Sundays. Duration of each class is 1 hour.
  • Tuition:  $85 per month per student
  • Lessons will be taught in Carnatic Music discipline.
  • Commitment: We request a long term commitment from the student as this is a classical art - it is very hard to find a guru who can teach violin in Carnatic music and we are fortunate to have Sri Krishnamurthy.

 Violin instrument. There are various options available and the teacher will  assist pick the right violin.
